I wrote this poem a long time ago but i found it on my DA profile that I just regained access to! Anyway, I really like it and i think folks here might find resonance with it. 
It's okay if you don't understand it all, i don't always understand my own thoughts or writing either, haha! 
I have not written anything like this in years so re-reading it may get my creative juices flowing

i'm getting ready for bed

the phone rings, but it's just a letter
my heart aches but it'll get better
i'm just trying to do my thing
but doing it for me, is harder than i thought
buy some roses with money but love can't be bought

solitude and loneliness are not the same
one brings peace, the other despair
ridiculous, am I? to wish not to care
the one I see while the other eats at my soul
confiding my desires to an empty door
the windows are painted and i'm staring at the floor

eject the illusions and read what is right
left among illness and yet replete
my essence developed yet full of deceit
what lies beneath, neither rod nor cone
true sight true mind no bias desired
ignore this feeling and you shall be retired

lace and wool were both threads, aye
but in the eye their appeal, reserved
formulate the answer that we are deserved
restraint and hedonism are wont to spar
while that lethal and beauty do often combine
and working as a combine reaps, evil divine

divinities unknown take form in flesh
release their judgment on kings and fools
make no distinction as if they were mules
distraught and weathered we animals do pray
unbeknownst to us whether it is heard
believing our souls to carry a word
