he was wierd there is no doubt about it...but the fact remains he was an icon known the world over and was immensely popular even now....his 50 london concerts sold out within minutes..not many people can say that...his videos were epic, grand storytelling at its best...no one has done or will d o anything close to what he did....

He appears to have gotten away with being a pedophile, which is quite an accomplishment in this day of pedophile hysteria.

I don't think his vast wealth made him happy, which just goes to show that money doesn't buy happiness. But expressing his creativity in music and dance must have made his life not feel like a total waste.

All in all, however, he will be remembered as a cultural phenomenon rather than as an artist. And, 200 years from now, people will have higher regard for his pre-fame stuff, such as _Post Office_, than for his fame stuff, such as _Billie Jean_.

Say what you will about his personal life, the man was easily one of the most incredible entertainers of the past 100 years.

Lol Thistle....he will be missed by many...he is easily the biggest entertainer death since Elvis.....very few artists can hope to acheive the following (he sold out 50 venues for tickets in 3 minutes) or the iconic status that he did....somewhere said he was over $400 million in debt...those scandals with the kids were what finally started to sink his ship....the industry has definitely lost an important soul...

I was frightened on hearing of Michael Jackson's death.

Such a brilliant artist and sensitive human being.

On the evidence, for sure, he wished to remain a child, but paedophelia? there is no substantial evidence.

I was going to buy a tabloid paper today to read about them celebrating his life when I remembered
the same tabloids hounded him in his life so i did'nt.

I was a fan of him when i was very young. I saw him play in Ireland when I was 14.

the tenderness of songs such as Ben, she's out of my life and one day in your life are exquisite in touching my heart.

The simple joy of I want you back is one of the best dance songs I have ever heard.

RIP Michael.
